The Intuitive Painting Sessions

What is Intuitive Painting?

Intuitive painting is an opportunity to explore the inner self through the creative process in a safe, critic free environment. It is not a painting technique or method. Intentional Intuitive Painting is a process of blending intention and intuition. One makes a conscious decision to paint a subject, but the process is guided by intuition (example colors, lines, shapes, symbols, elements).

By nature, we are creative & intuitive beings, capable of creating much more than we often believe. The playshop series are designed to harness the power of our creativity through our intention and the intuitive painting process. With the themes designed by Elaine, we will be playing with different & mixed mediums. (acrylics, water colour pencils, water colour, acrylic inks, gouache, paper, marker pens, etc.)

What will we be doing the most during your stay?

Throughout your stay, you will learn how to access your inner creative intelligence, and to bring it into your conscious playful, creative expression.

Different mediums and tools will be used and explored. We’ll use guided visualization, prayerful intention, and intuitive painting as expressive tools to translate our inner wisdom into color, shapes, symbols and form, expressed out through painting.

If you feel called upon a specific theme, do not hesitate to embrace it by painting it. Your soul may be prompting you towards the embodiment of these values in your life.

What if you’ve never painted before?

There is no prior painting experience necessary. Even if you have never painted or drawn in your life, the sessions will take you beyond your limitations and open you to your powerful creative self. We speak in symbol & metaphor every day whether we know it or not. The sessions will deepen you into the journey of being the visionary storyteller and creator of your life.

This is Elaine's private home studio nestled in USJ 12, a residential terrace house in Subang Jaya. Staying here reminds you of the nostalgic charm of Airbnb's early days, a homely atmosphere with a live-in host who prepares your breakfast and engages in delightful conversations.
Only one bedroom is exclusively designated for your solo retreat experience here.

2. The Hatchery Place Coliving Home

Nestled in USJ 11, a residential terrace house in Subang Jaya. This small creative coliving home, led by Elaine as the host and co-founder, features three bedrooms, a communal coworking area, shared kitchen facilities, and occasional community events.
There are 3 bedrooms to choose from: The Artist Studio (with attached bathroom), The Writer’s Room and The Minimalist Room.
As a coliving guest in our place, whom we warmly called 'The Hatcherians', you will get to enjoy the following:
• Coworking Spaces (Hotdesk) -
• Wi-fi Access (up to 100Mbps unlimited)
• The pantry for complimentary coffee/tea making facilities (snacks are also available for sale)
• Shared bathroom with water heater shower for the cold days
• The basic kitchen with basic cooking utensils, storage and a fridge
• Washing machine & detergents for your laundry needs
• Craft room usage with basic tools for woodcrafts, handmake hobbies & art
• Chillout & tiny reading corner with curated selection of books upstairs & downstairs

Your Facilitator & Host

I’m Elaine, your intuitive art guide!

I’ve been an intuitive painter for many years now.

I have always believe art can deliver healing messages to the beholder, and that the act of creating serves as a medium for inquiry into infinite possibilities. I like to paint whimsical, colourful and doodly artworks, letting my intuitions be my guide. My art practice serves as an extension of my quest to get to know myself deeper and through it cultivates a more intimate connection within & with the universe as a whole.

My practice hasn't always been entirely intuitive.

When I first started painting intuitively I knew I wanted to express my inner self, my soul, but I didn't really know how to do it properly. “Am I connecting to the right message?” “Is this how it feels like?” “Is it correct?” “Why am I creating a mess?” “Is my soul really speaking to me?”

It's probably a similar doubtful or clueless place you are at right now. If that's the case, then intuitive painting retreat is for you!

I will share my practice and process on how to truly listen to that inner voice that guides our painting hands. It will be a soulful retreat with an emphasis on how to tap into high vibrational energies to channel that true inner creative voice and paint onto the canvas!

Fearless art making

Find your authentic artistic self, break free from inhibitions, and overcome any fear of painting. All levels of experience are welcome, as Elaine will adapt her facilitation to your needs, and will encourage you to experiment and develop without critique.

At the end of retreat

By the end of the retreat, you'll have completed a series of soulful masterpieces for your own contemplation. You'll play with a wide variety of creative techniques to making art, from sampling a variety of professional supplies, layering techniques, mark making, to incorporating mixed mediums to your painting.

Beyond painting

Beyond painting alongside Elaine on your guided sessions day, you'll also have plenty of free time to discover Kuala Lumpur the city, or enjoy more time to paint and work on your own art project, and share your experiences with other creatives in the community.
